How to get the best out of Amazon

January 25, 2007 at 7:39 am (Advice, Amazon, How To, Money, Shopping)

Amazon has a 30 day price guarantee that they do not promote or say anything about on their website. I found out about it from a digg.com article and from dealcatcher.com. The guarantee states that if you purchase an item and the price goes down within the next 30 days, they will refund you the difference. Pretty cool, right?

Motorola KRZR

So I purchased the Motorola KRZR from Amazon earlier this month for $314.99 (unlocked all the way!) and had noticed the price went down to $298.99; that is a $16 refund for me, if they were going to be legit. Which, of course, they were! They said they would process my refund right away and it would take 3-5 days. I’ll update you, but I hope I’ll be getting my money!

The easy, peezy process:

  1. I called Amazon at 1-800-201-7575. (Their customer service number if you don’t want to wait for them to call you.)
  2. I pressed “7″ and not the refund/returns prompt because it is just an automated voice.
  3. I got a man who didn’t speak English very well, so he transferred me to a woman who helped me right away.
  4. They asked me for the following information:
    • order number
    • my name
    • email address associated with the account
    • the billing address
  5. She then verified that the price did drop and told me the exact amount of money I was going to get refunded back to my credit card.

Good luck. Get money =)

Update: Just checked my order page, the refunding has begun.

Unbeweaveable!

hairdo Extensions ad

Jessica Simpson and hair stylist Ken Paves decided to make hairdo extensions for the modern woman, myself included, and of course I had to get them. Almost $100 when purchased from HSN.com (including shipping), but I think it was worth it… I bought another one just yesterday… the straight one. Like em? I know I do. =)

hairdo Extensions

As you can tell by the picture, my hair was quite short and I assure you it did not grow 10 inches in 2 months. Hair only grows 3/4 inch a month, regardless of what you put in it!

Unbeweavable

Tada!

The extensions were surprisingly very easy to put… easier than I thought. It is not for people with really thick hair because then the back will be all lumpy. The color I chose was dark brown, but there are 10 other colors. Good luck w/ yours if you buy them!

89134: a zip code magazine

January 23, 2007 at 2:43 pm (Firsts, Local)

89134 Magazine

So my mom and dad live in a pretty rich neighborhood by the name of Summerlin… (well most of it, anyway) and I went over to visit the other day. I can’t stay away for too long, mom’s home-cooked meals are irresistible… even though she was not there, her mini-me, my sister, was. So I’m snooping around, hoping to find something to take to my house (I took their 10-cup rice cooker last time, woohoo!), when I saw this magazine that was named our zip code… I mean, they made an entire magazine dedicated to a zip code in Summerlin. Summerlin is pretty big; they have more than one zip code. Those rich bastards…

Hello Kitty on my steering wheel

January 23, 2007 at 2:26 pm (Firsts, Hello Kitty, Products)

Hello Kitty Steering Wheel Cover

Went to Chinatown on Monday and bought myself the most perfect thing ever… a Hello Kitty steering wheel cover. It looked kinda big, so I was hesitant to buy, but… its Hello Kitty, so I took the chance anyways. Plus, it was on sale for $25. And yes, I drive a Hyundai.

$100,000 Pepsi can

January 21, 2007 at 1:34 pm (News)

Pepsi Bling

Pepsi is giving away a $100,000 jewel-studded soft-drink can to one lucky fan. You can enter the contest (I did… teehee), but you know you won’t win… just kidding. I’m just trying to discourage you. But, no no… the winner will also get lifetime tickets to the Superbowl.

“The can is all blinged out,” Pepsi-Cola (PEP) North America Chief Marketing Officer Cie Nicholson says of the sterling-silver can crusted with 300 diamonds, 100 sapphires and 100 rubies. The design was inspired by past Super Bowl rings, as well as by the Vince Lombardi Trophy for the winning Super Bowl team.

Enter here. Good luck =)
